jollyjack Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Were any of the existing TC tanks present in ww2 Finland, and is there any information on them? Found only this: https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/finland/stug-iii-ausf-g-in-finnish-service/ And this Renault FT seems very much used:
Nickkyboy99 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 During the Winter War, they almost had no tanks. During the Continuation War, they mainly used Panzer 4s, StuGs and captured Soviet tanks 1
Avimimus Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 The Soviets had some interesting tanks though! T-35, T-100, T-26 for instance!
JLean Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Hi, Of the TC tanks only Stug III and T-34-76 would be historically accurate for Finns in summer 1944 battles at Karelian Isthmus. Finland got some Pz IVJ:s but these came too late for the battles against Soviets. Stug III was the main vechile used. few captured T-34-76 were in action against Soviets. Then from Soviet side almost everyhting goes except Sherman. There were even some Churchills seen in photos. JLean

There were nine T34/85s in Finnish use, which of seven saw action at summer 1944, but TC don't have those. Edited October 14, 2024 by GasTeddy
JLean Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) Hi, If you use Google search you can find quite much information . Finns had also different models of T-34/76. and four of those were used in summer 1944. e.g one link here about T-34 & other tanks used by Finns https://www.jaegerplatoon.net/TANKS6.htm and some photos of Churchill in Vyborg (Viipuri) https://www.o5m6.de/redarmy/churchill_in_combat.php JLean Edited October 18, 2024 by JLean 1 1
GenMarkof007 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 (edited) S! I had to remove the link... Seems to be blocked? Find this topic on what Germany supply Finland in WW2 https://www.quora.com/Did-Germany-supply-tanks-to-Finland-during-World-War-II Edited October 19, 2024 by GenMarkof007
