ME shutting down rather than opening

I recently started having problems with the ME. I start it and then select which mission I wish to open so I can continue adding and editing to it. It start to load with the green line in the rectangular box and when it gets about halfway across, I’m suddenly back on the windows opening home screen. 
Additionally the same thing happens in the game after I’ve selected a mission and it’s starting to load. It happens in both multiplayer and offline mission selections. 
It will work fine right after the computer turns on but if I choose to enter the ME before going into the sim it crashes. The opposite is also true. It crashes if I go into the mission and fly before going into the ME. 
Any suggestion?

There is a utility in the bin/editor folder in your IL2 main directory to reset the editor settings. You can try running that first

 

 

If that doesn't work you will probably have to reload the editor. You should be able to do that without completely reinstalling the game, but unfortunately I don't have a step by step method. Maybe someone else can chime in or you can do a search if resetting the ME doesn't work.
