Just looking at starting skinning but not having much luck finding a working dds plugin. Appreciate any help/links.

Not used PS for a year but last I checked I used Nvidia Texture Tools plug-in - Its part of their developer kit so you need to spend 5 mins registering but its decent once you have stuff set as needed.

Thanks, found and installed....now a quick question...what settings do I save a .dds file as for BoX with the upgraded .dds interface? Thanks for any help, cheers, Mysticpuma

Pretty much as in the image you posted I think (only used Gimp in my BoX skinning days). Perhaps play about with the compression quality (normal or production) but, as Jollyjack say "Highest" is always good. The image should end up about 22Mb as i recall.

Found it:

"Finally, to answer your last question, BC3 is indeed the same as DXT5! Wikipedia has a good reference of the mapping between DXT1-5 and BC1-3 at S3 Texture Compression - Wikipedia 39. (In short, DXT1, 3, and 5 are BC1, 2, and 3 respectively, and DXT2 and DXT4 are BC2 and 3 respectively but with premultiplied alpha, which is now a setting for all formats via the “Export Premultiplied Alpha” checkbox.)

We standardized the names in the new version to hopefully make things less confusing for new users (as we can now talk about BC1-7 as opposed to DXT1-5, 3Dc+/ATI1, 3Dc/ATI2, and BC6-7, and this now also matches the DXGI formats 5 and Khronos data format specification formats 4 that users of new rendering APIs will be most familiar with.)"
