I./JG62_froNt Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Hi all, I am super unsure if it is supposed to be like this, or not. I played alot IL2 (around 1600hrs) but had a year long break now. I cannot remember that the textures looked that terrible, it is really hard to navigate sometimes even. It is a fresh install, have maxed out the graphic settings, I validated the game files, updated gpu-driver, but still it looks like this. Also there seems to be buildings missing in the cities, rivers look pixeled.. Sometimes I can see better quality textures popping in now and then. Could it be related to the 32" so it is not able to buffer the whole screen content? Also feel like it is a little bit better on quick missions, als zoom level seems creates a lot of popping in and out of textures. I dont know, maybe its just me and everthing is supposed to be like that but wanted to ask for a second opinion. Thanks and greetings! o7 froNt
1CGS Regingrave- Posted September 20, 2024 1CGS Posted September 20, 2024 For maximum quality you should as well enable landscape filter and increase distant landscape detail.
I./JG62_froNt Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 thanks, i gave that a try and it looked better already! feel a bit dump tbh, i just clicked on ultra settings ..
IckyATLAS Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 You may get better result also with MSAA at 4 already. All depends on your GPU power. FXAA is faster but has less visual quality. If you have a not too old Nvidia GPU then instead of using Target FPS at 60 you can set it to NONE. Then go into the NVIDIA setup window and select the 3D parameters and then set the Vertical Sync parameter to FAST. The advantage here is that your GPU will run to the max framerate possible without changing image quality and without tearing the image. The image is not teared because the additional frames that come in excess are ignored. The Anysotropic filtering and Antialiasing parameters should be set to "Controlled by the application". It is good also to experiment with the GPU 3D parameters.
