Fall_Blau Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I'm assuming it's for dialing in a desired course, then using the course deviation indicator for holding that heading. I see the knob moving on it's own when flying, sometimes it rotates to around my actual heading, sometimes it just keeps pointing north the whole flight. I'd be super useful for navigating the wastelands around Stalingrad.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Unfortunately with things like this such as the nav beacons, it is up to the mission designer to implement them and then your planes system will pick them up automatically. It is not like some other flight sims where the beacons are always there and you can tune to the one you want. 1

These kind of "base SIM" additions could really make the Korea title much better in terms of depth and replayability. I could have loads of fun just getting in a Mig, putting the weather to soup and flying to different beacons..... This kind of easy mission configurator is sorely missing for GB.
Fall_Blau Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 I feel you, especially since in the JU 52 or other transport planes, you just kinda relax and aviate, so having more in depth simulation and systems modeling would really justify the cost and make it more fun to fly. For me at least, I'm sure some people like the fact that it's not as in depth as say DCS or MSFS.

If you want fully detailed aircraft that cost as much as 10 aircraft and a map in GB, buy a DCS aircraft. If you want “good enough for most people”, then buy GB.

No I don't think we are asking for MFS or DCS levels of simulation. I don't think it would be too much to ask to have a little more depth of the maps such as beacons etc or a planner that you could set some waypoints for the aircraft's system to follow. The frustrating thing is actually everything is there in the background ready to work; the beacons are an object, the aircraft have the systems, the map allows you to plot waypoints.... IMO a flight planner with a bit more depth is desperately needed. Also why can we not take the code that generates the career missions and just have some sliders or buttons to generate one off missions. I.e. I want bombing, this time of the day, this map, this weather, low amount of enemies..... This SIM has so much more potential for being much more than it is if some of these things that exist were properly integrated. I think instead of getting another bf109 or yak...spend some time really polishing what is already there. 1

So where is that then? Is it another application? I could not find it quickly by just clicking through the game menus. Can you please elaborate about where it is and it's base functions. EDIT: I found it. You have to select the star icon on a map that has it. I don't think it is very clear, it took me searching through the forum to find it. I might be wrong about this but I could not easily find it because the Arras map is loaded first for me and that doesn't have AQMB options. This feature should be much more prominent. Hey I get it completely, I guess I worded that wrong. I was feeling kind of let down let's say about that aircraft specifically. But it's all water under the fridge.

It's on all the full-size maps. Arras is a scaled down version of the main WWI Western Front map. 1

My point is that for a new player or even one that has been here for a long time it is not obvious that this feature exists. This is compounded by the maps being loaded alphabetically meaning that the first one that is shown does not have this feature.
