Setting up a sqaud server on a vps?

Hi,

 

I  have been toying with setting up a very small squad server is only 4 of us now , for co ops and messing about with missions

 

I was going to try on a hosted VPS but what specs should i look for ?

 

I don't mind reading up on stuff to set it up, I was just asking for basic specs really

 

I would most likely get as much enjoyment tweeking stuff as playing i like to mess lol

Unless a lot of work has been done to dserver since I last had The Unprofessionals server running you will be wanting the following:
- At least 2vCPU preferably 4

- 8GB of RAM

- Fast storage

- High IPC and Clock speed is preferable.

Running on a VPS is not very desirable as they don't tend to dedicate the hardware to that VPS server nor do they tend to run them on high clock speed servers.
The ideal situation would be a bare metal server running a recent or current gen desktop class CPU (Ryzen, Threadripper, Core i7/9, Core Ultra, Epyc 4004 series)
