HamburgerEnjoyer Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Just had this error myself, I attempted every solution attempted and nothing had worked. I have been using MS visual studio to read the crash dump files and VS always described it as a erroneous virtual memory access. After loosing hope that maybe something deep in windows was messed up, I attempted one last thing. Going into my bios settings I turned off Virtualization and Hyper-threading, and that solved it. I have done some trial and error, and both need to be turned off in order for the game to launch. I have not noticed a difference in performance for IL-2, however some other Physics based games and other common applications have suffered by a visually noticeable amount, as you would expect. I don't think the root cause is with virtualization or hyper-threading itself is the issue, since it worked for a long time before, but it seems to allow function at the very least. Hope this can help somebody someday.
