Trident_109 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Oh yeah, metal: I could go for a Stanley Jordan Friday! Excellent!
Feathered_IV Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Certainly a lot to look forward to isnt there?
PA-Sniv Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I also hope to see flame outs and under carriage DM implemented! What do you mean by 'under carriage DM implemented'? Last week, I made a hard landing with my Fw-190. When taxiing to parking, my left gear leg suddenly collapsed. ++
Matt Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Maybe he means flying around with extended undercarriage at extreme speeds. Other than that, undercarriage damage happens all the time. I've become pretty good at guessing how long i can still roll out after a really hard landing until it goes *plonk* and it becomes a belly touch down.
Voidhunger Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Electric / pneumatic gear collaps (by enemy bullets) . Now its only possible to shot them off. Which is funny. Also in belly landing undercarriage are often torn off from the closed position . Which is funny too. Edited August 8, 2014 by Voidhunger
Nage Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Rudders? Someone said a magic word Even bigger magic word would be ROLL.
IVJG4-Knight Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I feel I've been too ctitical towards the devs.So i'm happy with whatever i get .
Livai Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Explosion effects look very disappointing. Smoke disappears way too quickly and not even in a fluent way. And blast is 2D. A improvement would be great. However I am still waiting to see the advantage Performance improvement and Graphics that was said when the Custom Graphic Settings are gone forever. A dream to dreaming

marshall Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I always wonder if the menu screens are to be improved. Always felt like place holders since the early access began. They seem very basic and dont suit the time period of the game.

They seem very basic and dont suit the time period of the game. Matter of personal taste.I find UI very well done.Sober, simple, user friendly and for the most - original. 1
Endy Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would like to see how many trucks and trains I've destroyed after a sortie in QMB. 2
Brano Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Count them yourself and then report to your superior officer..... ....nah,just pulling your leg Good point. In fact I like what 3rd party campaign generator from Pat Wilson do in RoF.After each flight YOU have to claim how many targets you destroyed. Then there is some mechanics behind (kind of approval process) and it will tell you if those claims were confirmed or not. That would be awsome to have in BoS. sinanziric Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I've been flying FSX and many other sims for years, and now when I play IL-2 I don't understand my problem with landing. Every time I try to land La-5 i get a spin or two, no matter rudder management or whatever... landing is very difficult... it's like landing on ICE. I approach an airfield with 160 KM/h, full flaps and after minor rudder corrections my plane goes to SPIN, WHY? I've landed many types of planes without problem in other sims the same or similar way Could this be related to rudder issues?
Pringliano Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 sinanziric, you're actually running on ice in IL2 BOS, because the various rws you use are actually contaminated with ice / snow, so, there's most surely a much more cautious approach required to maneuver the airplane on the ground. Then, please don't forget that your tail wheel must be locked when you takeoff / land ( in the Fw190 you lock it by pulling back on the stick ). This prevents it from swiveling, and is very important to mantain aircraft control. FSX and X-Plane are far from being realistic in many flight and overall physics modeling aspects. Believe me - it's a lot more close to real in IL2 BOS than in those simulators. I would even put it in " than in all other flight simulators I ever used!!! " Keep trying, and getting your technique better and better. Watch Syn_Requiem's videos, etc...
NN_RugbyGoth Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 If I could have some good sound when I'm hit, I would be soooooooooo happy
=AVG=Zombie Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Hey Dev's, what gives with the SLI support?????? Have not heard anything on that for a long time, please give an update... Oh ya, how about find the missing hit sounds, would like to know when im getting hit ya know... Edited August 8, 2014 by =AVG=Zombie 1
oneeyeddog Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 If I could have some good sound when I'm hit, I would be soooooooooo happy +1. There are times that the first inclination that my plane has been damaged is the fiery glow in my cockpit.
Dakpilot Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 If the Luftwaffe rudders are fixed will there be an upsurge in bar discussion Cheers Dakpilot
Zak Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Hey Dev's, what gives with the SLI support?????? Have not heard anything on that for a long time, please give an update... nVidia said that we can expect SLI support by the 343 version of drivers. Recent version is 340 or so. Yes, the dev diary is coming later today - the devs are still working on the update and I need to know what they got for us to be able to write about it. 2
Pringliano Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) I think they more then deserve some rest, from the weekly stress of having to say something every friday, and even worst, to make something new available on that same schedule... I'm glad that most of us aren't project leaders, bosses, IRL.... Above all, I ask myself what we would say of our project managers / bosses should they require from us the same pace of production, the same stress we certainly help creating on teams like the one behind this project :-/ As far as I am concerned, I have a lot to train with the La5 and the Fw190 ( I'm learning to fly both using the same tactics... ), and then also flying the Dora in the other simulator, although, honestly, nothing compares to IL2 BOS, as I already wrote somewhere at another post - there is something really special about the overall "feel of flight" in IL2 BOS that I simply can't find elsewhere! So... lot's of thing to play with for the week, starting tomorrow! Edited August 8, 2014 by jcomm

SeriousFox Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) FSX helps, but it's complete different game. I'd say FSX is Flightsim without actual flight physics.. lol Edited August 8, 2014 by SeriousFox
PA-Sniv Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Yep, keep 1400-1600 rpm on ground when decelerating to avoid spining. ++ Edited August 8, 2014 by PA-Sniv
71st_AH_Hooves Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 howabout fixing the F12 too, I unbind it from center view. But it still re-centers the view.. when I use it for screen shots in Steam. Thats track ir Mastiff Not in game. Recenter view in game in numpad 5 1

YoYo Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Update is ready? Cant connect to master server with logins. Soon!
Zak Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Yes, it should be soon but anyway please prepare for the server to be inavailable for sometime.
-=PHX=-Satch Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Wow, something big is coming... not only rudder fix i suspect... :D
Zak Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Gents, it's been decided to postpone today's update. It will be ready next week (maybe in the very beginning, not sure yet). I'm really sorry I made you wait for the dev blog update. It was about those great things that you'd love to finally see in the game, like, improved engine modelling, tweaked aerodynamics for a couple of planes and, of course, fixing the Bf 109 rudder issue. Some GUI elements were to be updated as well. And it looks like there was too much of ... everything. It just didn't want to work as a single piece. Sorry, folks. P.S. next week is going to be full of nice news thou.. 9
LuftManu Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Dont Worry team, Nice work! looking foward the next week!
sallee Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I should think most of the team was in therapy last week so no worries!
Blooddawn1942 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) I will gladly wait some days for this interesting and significant update! Thanks for Your hard work. Take a beer, You and the devs have well deserved it. What You all are doing is beyond the call of duty!! Edited August 8, 2014 by Blooddawn1942
Finkeren Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 With so much stuff coming up, there just is no rushing it out the door. Take your time.
