small ground objects go invisible in VR

This wasn't an issue some months ago. One day everything was fine, then the next day many of us were struggling to spot small guns on the ground while strafing them. 

 

At an absurdly low distance, small objects fade to invisibility in VR. these include AAA guns and the sandbags around them (which is the main reason it affects gameplay). You can line up a run on an invisible fast-firing AAA gun that's spraying bullets at your teammate while invisible and it will stay invisible until you are within like 100 meters or something absurd, where it will fade back into a solid object right before your eyes.

Trying to line up on a AAA gun in VR when it's not already shooting at someone without zooming in is extremely frustrating. By the time the thing fades into existence it's WAY too late to line up a shot.

I've been testing this out on the little sandbags trying EVERY possible setting to fix this all day. They fade out at such a close distance, I can still make out the shape of the sandbags as they start fading into nothingness.. it seems to have something to do with the relative zoom level seeming so much lower because there's such a wider FOV in VR.

Basically the game thinks your zoomed WAY out while in VR and this causes objects to fade away FAR too quickly. most VR users I've talked to are also struggling with this. Please revert the LOD for the small ground objects, or at-least give us a setting to tweak so we can adjust this ourselves.
