Tempest ammo count

I can't say for sure, as I haven't seen any direct, first hand sources, but I have seen multiple second hand sources that state that the Tempest carried 800 rounds; 200 rounds per gun.

 

Can anyone give any insight on this?

No, the current ammo count is correct. It's based on original wartime documentation (including monthly squadron expenditure reports).

Thanks.  Any idea why multiple other sources think that it's 200 rounds per gun?
