[VR] : CPU performance leak when using the map during a flight

Hello everyone !

 

Lately, I encounter a strange behavior during my flight. Each time I open the map, my CPU usage skyrocket.

I monitor my performance thanks to OpenXR toolkit. On average, I'm running with 15% headroom for the GPU and around 5% for the CPU. However each time I open the map during my flight, the CPU get bound of 20%. As a result, my FPS drop from 72 fps to 53 fps. The only trick to fix it, is to use the Alt+Tab keys to quickly leave and get back to the game. Strange isn't it ? I have to do it each time I use the map.

 

The issue is the same during solo and multiplayer parties.

 

Does anyone face the same issue ?

 

[SPECS]

 

I'm running IL2GB on a Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Laptop

  • GPU : NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop
  • CPU : 13th Gen Intel i7-13700HX
  • RAM : 32 Go
  • The PC is online thanks to Ethernet cable

 

For VR I'm using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop and OpenComposite.

  • VR Frame Rate : 72fps
  • VR Bitrate: 200 Mps
  • Quality : High
  • No SSW / No Video buffering

 

In game settings are set to intermediate, no grass, low cloud quality, no SSO, 70 km for horizon.
