=/WoVi/=kirumovka Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Is it possible to reduce the head bobbing (rotation effects) with mods? I'm fine with special effects like air sickness remaining but as someone who plays without head tracking, my ability to track targets and identify them in turbulence due to monitor ghosting (my monitor runs at like 40 fps if it weren't for pixel inversion) and making snap shots in scissors is greatly hampered by the bobbing motion when compared to WT as IL-2's controls scheme is a little more limited than WT when it comes to camera controls (e.g. no independant head axis reset). WT allows players to disable a setting called "Sense of Flight" acceleration-based effects which is far inferior than IL-2's head bobbing effects, leaving the player with just G force head translational movement as angular motion is completely eliminated except for when the player is near explosion effects (e.g. flak) and this greatly helps reduce nausea and helps with identifying targets as all I need to do to "stabilise" the screen is to match the angular velocity of the aircraft to the target I'm trying to identify. As a side note, if I ever transition to VR, angular motions may also upset me greatly as I found tryouts with iRacing very naseating due to the artificial G force effects it has with very subtle camera rotations. I have no way of verifying if IL-2 has these camera bobbing effects in VR or I ask someone to actually purposely record a video on this topic until I buy myself a headset for that matter, but I hear IL-2 has these effects as well as a trick I like to play on some people is to close their eyes, shake their plane for 15 seconds then open their eyes only for them to throw off their headset immediately🤣
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 (edited) You can turn off - head shake but if you want eliminate G force, pulling you down in the cockpit, you need to disable Y axis in Track ir Edited July 30, 2024 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk

What's that? Ha! (you missed the fact that I don't play with any form of head tracking)
