Hi All,

here some suggestions to improve immersion for SP Pilot Career.

1.) A simple backup / restore function for the career

As we all know, in all flight sims sometimes the pilot dies due to some unnecessary reasons (rammed by AI flight member, crash during AI autopilot cruise flight, killed by a single headshot by a far away sniper bomber gunner, ...) For these reasons from my point of view a career / backup function is required.

2.) Captivity

If the pilot has to bail out / crash land behind enemy lines, please do not always end the career with 100% random as a prisioner of war.

If he comes down in some distance to enemy ground units please give him a chance of ca. 20% to 50% to be rescued or to sneak through the enemy lines under the cover of the night.

3.) Bailing out over sea

Please consider the distance to allied/enemy ships, the shore line and the weather for the calculation, if the pilot dies(drowned), if he is rescued or taken prisoner.

 

Small note: some of the listed points (e.g.captivity) were already available in older flight sims like Red Baron and I have suggested many of them already 24 years ago 1 year before the original IL-2 was released - of course this is only my personal point of view.

Especially if helicopters get added down the road, even without having them appear in the mission, having distance to nearest helicopter base vs proximity to enemy could be effect the dice rolls on escape/rescue. (I say if helicopters are added since I imagine they wouldn't do the work track their bases if they don't have to)
