Hi,

My system is HP Reverb (first version, not G2), GTX 4080, AMD 5800X, 32GB, SSD. I'm trying to get my system to hold 90 fps and add graphical detail until it starts dropping frames. However, I'm finding that my fps is locked to 60fps at maximum, no matter what settings I choose. Tried everything to get it to hold 90 fps:

  • Using OpenComposite and OpenXR Toolkit
  • Headset is set to 90 Hz in Windows Mixed Reality (Settings > Mixed Reality > Headset Display > Frame Rate)
  • Motion reprojection disabled in both OpenXR Tools for WMR, and also in OpenXR Toolkit
  • Graphics setting in game set to lowest in all settings, everything off that can be turned off.
  • Dropped resolution in OpenXR Toolkit to around 1000x1000 (looks total garbage, but I want 90 fps!).
  • Turn on dynamic resolution factor to 0.5, so the game tries extra hard to hold 90 fps.
  • OpenXR Toolkit FPS says: App CPU 16.6ms, Rdr CPU 1.6ms, App GPU 0.8ms.

Even with these absolute minimal settings the fps is capped at 60, even in just the menu. It's like the game is insisting my headset only does 60 Hz .. but the setting in WMR is definitely set to 90Hz. Only in IL2 though, for example if I start up SteamVR I get 90 fps in the SteamVR Home: the headset if capable of it but IL2 won't do it. Has anyone else experienced this and knows of a solution?

FIXED!: Caused by VSync. Was greyed out and turned off in game, but obviously was still applying it. Disabling VSync forcibly via NVidia control panel fixed the issue.

IIRC some people have reported getting this if vsync is left on in the game.

Ahah! It's greyed out and disabled in game, but if I go into NVidia control panel and forcibly disable VSync there then I get 90 fps again. IL-2 be weird. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
