gameking199 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I've been playing the D-Day campaign for a little bit, and I wanted to use the Mosquito. Every time I do, it's at night. I don't have a problem doing night missions; it's just that I can't see anything, even when the moon is fully out. There's zero moonlight. Is there a way to make the lighting better so I can not only see the ground a little but also my bombing objective? Or is there some type of instrument in the cockpit that I can use to help tell me when to bomb? I've been using the German searchlights as a rough target area.

IckyATLAS Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 This is a known say limitation. There is no ambient illumination. I made tests at full moon from rising to setting. The moon color variation from reddish to white is simulated. The lighting through and over the clouds is simulated as well as the reflections on the water. But there is no ambient volumetric lighting simulated and as such the ground is pitch black moon or not moon and there is nothing you can do.
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Just another reason to dump this old engine and move on to a new (or much modified old) one. 1
Billsponge1972 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 You can open the startup.cfg in the data folder and look for entry under [KEY = graphics]; gamma = 0.90000 Change it to = 1.2000 or 1.2500 or experiment. Don't forget to save as (read only).
