R33GZ Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 So..... Im guessing this is a very unusual bug, or maybe ICGS is trolling the bejesus out of me. Below is a pic of the arming screen from a Wing Walkers mission currently in progress. Long range escort, where my Mk IXe Spitfire has been very generously given a droptank! Once I click on ammunition scheme or modifications it dissappears and if you leave it alone and fly it is not visible when bailing out of the aircraft (the only way to get external view as that is locked on the server) Can I please please please have droptanks... this is such a tease. I have a case of Blue Ball now 😒 This is on an unmodified and uptodate version of the game. 2

Jaegermeister Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I manually entered "10" as the loadout in the .mission file and reloaded the mission in the ME to recreate the .msnbin file. I already had 2x 250lb bombs selected, so I guess it was updated to "11" by the msnbin resave. I got the following display in the loadout screen; The only way to make this happen is to manually edit the .mission file. It is obviously an old loadout left from when the drop tanks were being tested and the .gtp file still contains the texture for the loadout screen. As you observed, the loadout goes back to default when you start the mission because the textures don't exist in game. 1 1
sevenless Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 (edited) I still hope they might integrate Dan´s quick and dirty solution to represent drop tanks without all that superfluous overengineering. Gameplay first, please. Edited July 14, 2024 by sevenless 2

But, from what I remember with testing they only got modeled for the 109 and Spitfire, so there would be quite a bit more work to do even if they make them simple.
Billsponge1972 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I think this was talked about but I wonder if it's possible to make the fuel load 150% thereby making it carry more fuel just not in the drop tank?

But, yes, at this point I agree that it'd be great if they even just released the drop-tanks as cosmetics for AI. 2 3
