ACG_Wobbel Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Can some one explaine this in more detail on how and why use regarding the 109F4 • In addition to full-automatic mode there is a special manual control mode for the radiator shutters, which can be used in specific situations. • The aircraft has no flight-control trimmers. Airplane is equipped with bendable trim tabs that can be set pre-flight by ground personnel. • The aircraft has a manually controlled horizontal stabilizer. It may be used to trim the flight stick during the flight. In a deep dive the stabilizer should be set so that the pilot must push the flight stick forward to maintain the dive angel.

Mostly (only?) used in case of emergency, e.g. a radiator leak. 25 minutes ago, GA332 said: • The aircraft has no flight-control trimmers. Note that trim does not equal stabilisers: trims are small tabs on the end of the stabilisers, while stabilisers are the "tail plane" itself. 27 minutes ago, GA332 said: • The aircraft has a manually controlled horizontal stabilizer. Stabiliser != trim. They've got different key assignments, but apart from that, they mostly function as a trim would. 1
ACG_Wobbel Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Thx for info 👍 ^ Exactly what it says. The IL2 "ground personnel" has already set the tabs to some generic value. Note that trim does not equal stabilisers: trims are small tabs on the end of the stabilisers, while stabilisers are the "tail plane" itself.^ So you can not change this when on ground or before take off by the ground personnel ?

HazMatt Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 My riddle is: When I map my stabilizer to my joystick hat nothing happens... Any ideas?
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 (edited) Needs to be on an axis. I have mine on one on my VKB stick. Edited July 10, 2024 by BlitzPig_EL
Eisenfaustus Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 No - I have it mapped to buttons and it works just fine.
HazMatt Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 It's odd. It detects the hatswitch in the keymapper but it doesn't do anything, however I can map it to another button and it works.
EAF19_Marsh Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I have trim and stabilizer on my Warthog trim hat and never had an issue. Have you tried turning it off and on again? Or conflicting controls? Or a difficulty setting that removes need for trimming?

You also have to bind the stabilizer trim axis for the 109, even if it says axis use the same buttons. The other bindings are for planes with trim control buttons.
