Jade_Monkey Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 This might be too much to ask for, but will the dams be destructible, and what happens to the water when the dam breaks? Not expecting complex fluid dynamics but trying to set expectations. 2 1
LuftManu Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Korea has undergone a lot of change in recent years. The work to depict a realistic map of the era has to be very laborious. Thanks team and good luck! Very interesting to get to know more and more, also with 40 airfields we will have enough bases Also really cool to hear about tunnels. I hope we can see AI entering on them! From the map that can be seen. I hope we can see them on the Iron Triangle!
No105_Swoose Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Terrific! I would be interested to know how many Chinese airfields north of the Yalu River there will be and, possibly, will there be any “Rules of Engagement” notes in US/UN air mission briefings not to cross the Yalu River even in hot pursuit?

Not expecting complex fluid dynamics but trying to set expectations. I think they will be destructible, but I'll leave that to our mapmakers to answer. 1 1
352ndOscar Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Impressive coverage. 500km x 500km - 250,000 sqkm. We’re going to need those drop tanks now. 1
migmadmarine Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 The uneven runway does look like it will make for more interesting takeoffs/landings.
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Going to have to really fly by the numbers in future, not at the high speeds most use now. 1

namhee2 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 If there is still documentation for the representation of villages, I recommend this village in Korea: Hahoe Folk Village 하회마을 관리사무소 It had visited it itself in 1997 1

actionhank1786 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 A lot of great news in the update! Looking forward to the steady trickle of information to come.

(And to press A for autopilot while going to the bathroom 😁) Thanks for the answer! Also, I was seeing the pics with some friends and we made some comparissions. Remember that Korea is not released yet, but we found some interesting changes. Mind you that the DD2 pics are not 4k and they are here with insane levels of zoom sometimes! Both planes, side by side. The cockpit seems to be better in Korea. It has that feel that it's a glass and has thickness. Don't know if this is PBR too but looks better The side of the plane reflection too. Gear strut in Korea has more detail. The wings also look beter on Korea, look at that tip. PBR showing not some "super flat" surface. Also, on the distance, looks like the rivers are not "being divided" Like they do now. This is a big plus for me. Also on the coastline shown on DD1. Side by side on the Engine block This one from DD1 at 4K And some cool scratches on the glass too Right now it's just shinny. Kind regards, 4
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 9, 2024 Author 1CGS Posted July 9, 2024 Yes, PBR is going to bring out a lot of details currently not possible. 2
Avimimus Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 A big question regarding the terrain engine: Will it be possible to have proper trenches? They were very important in Korea. 8 hours ago, 1PL-Husar-1Esk said: Refraction in thick glass would be possible? I'd like to know if translucencies will be possible in the updated engine. I know WWI content for it is probably a decade off - but a lot of WWI aircraft had translucent wings (depending on he coating used) and it'd be really nice to see that someday! 1

Good question - Regarding refraction specifically… I’d be shocked if that were added due to time/resources. To put it simply - the juice likely not being worth the squeeze. Would be neat if they did though! Unreal Engine 5 supports it.

1CGS LukeFF Posted July 9, 2024 Author 1CGS Posted July 9, 2024 Can't go into details, but the revised terrain engine is going to be able to render a lot of stuff that isn't possible right now. 5
cedric029 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Will you have support for buttkicker use? I have it on dcs and flightsimulator its something I miss in greatbattles so much it ads a ton of immersion and feeling the air drag of aoa while turning rpm guns etc I improved my flying (specialy aoa management) I was sometimes pulling too much on stick. And landing with it and feeling the touchdown and ground rumble on takeoff is very nice. 2 1
