Players with random number names.

There seems to be quite a few players that do this and I've seen them get kicked by some servers for anonymous names.

 

It seems odd to me that there are so many players that have names like this. Is there some reason behind it?

I think when you sign up the game by default offers 'playerxxxxx'.

If you don't choose a name yourself, that'll be it.

As to anonymity, not many use their real name so most are anonymous anyway, technically.

How do you know why the players were being kicked?  Did the server display a reason or something else?.

Yes, the server said: something like  "Anonymous players are not allowed, please change name and reconnect and then player kicked"

 

I'm not sure how some random name is different then some random number for a name.

 

It makes sense that the number is the default name when the account is created. I was curious as to how the names were all similar.

It sounds like a clique server. The problem is that unlike the RoF master server, its IL2GB successor requires connecting to a server before its description can be read.

This means that there's no proper way to warn potential users of any restrictions.

I doubt most would call Combatbox a "clique server"
