Rjel Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 We all know that German tech was supposed to be preeminent in the 1940s. I never knew it extended to rail traffic also. I was flying a QMB mission on the Rheinland autumn 1944 map. After strafing a couple of trucks, I found the freight train NW of Munster. After shooting off the trailing rail cars, the locomotive and its tender took off like a scalded cat. I'm not certain but I suspect Burt Lancaster might've been at the throttle. I was doing 250 mph in my P-51B and he was pulling away from me the entire time. He was anyway until he did the famous 180 degree flip to throw me off. The resulting collision was pretty cool. At that speed, the loco acted like it had real mass behind it. I have the .trk if the devs are interested. I'll post this in the Tech forum also. 2
