Career mission repetition?

I am new to career mod. I started one in the battle of Ormandy setting as a Mosquito pilot in the polish squadron during the “preparation to invasion”  phase and so far I’m being given the same mission to to attack the same airfield night after night. Is this sort of repetition typical in career mod or even historical?
