Liberate the Kuban is a 19-mission single player scripted campaign in which the Player will fly the IL-2 model 1942 Sturmovik on the Kuban map.  Missions are from February - March 1943.  The time period is during the great German retreat from the Caucasus and the Kuban River region to their new defenses on the Blue Line.  Inspiration for the missions are from actual battles.  Follow the path of the 4th Air Army Sturmoviks from Ust-Labinskaya to Temryuk as the Soviet pilots help to liberate the Kuban!

*Notes:

*I recommend using the MOD-Kuban-Winter-Map for the first eight missions, found here:

RELEASE OF 0.2  https://www.mediafire.com/file/5heeo1vx1i119y7/KUBAN_0.2.7z/file

(the mod map is not necessary - if you don't have it then you will have the Kuban-Fall map.

*A mission is completed when the player lands back at his home airfield.  So, even if targets are not destroyed, if you make it back alive, then you have accomplished the mission!  If target objectives are completed then it is not necessary to make a landing.

*All missions start on the runway with engine running with the exception of the last mission which is "Airstart".

*Must have Battle of Kuban.

*Mission descriptions are in English-only, sorry.

You're welcome.  This is the longest one I've made in a while (20 missions!).  I was eager to get back to Sturmovik ground attacks!  I enjoy learning about the battles as the campaign progresses from one place to another.

My next one is shorter at 10 missions - Ju 87G at Kursk - coming soon.

The presentation of each mission is top-notch and I especially like the shorter flight times because I have limited time to spend flying these days. Also the realism of making it home alive whether you destroyed anything or not is immersive. You know that feeling when your shot up smoking plane touches down back at base!

Hi CzechTexan, many thx for this new campaign. 🙂

After installing it, I noticed that Mission 8 fells out of chronology and also requires a different plane type. Is this intentional?

And where do I find the MOD-Kuban-Winter-Map

Sorry.  I must've gotten overzealous adding single missions to the campaign.

I will add a new download with the changes, asap.

EDIT:  new download available in first post.

Sorry, but if you already downloaded the Liberate Kuban campaign, please download again.

It has been updated.  There was an error with mission #8.

Great IL2 campaign, perfect follow-up to Ice Ring - you start missions over frozen plains attacking the same retreating army, and gradually make your way to more varied and thawed terrain towards the blue line. Really appreciate how clear the missions are in terms of targets and purpose, and they all fit together into an evolving tactical picture with no big time jumps

Thank you for the interesting review comments.  I like my campaigns to follow a day-by-day timeline and show how the front line changes through the course of time.  I also like how this one was able to change the seasons from snowy winter to warmer springtime.  Glad you also liked it and had many victories!  Thanks for the screenshots too.
