A note of thanks to the devs

I just wanted to say thanks to Team Fusion for continuing to develop this sim. There's been a lot of criticism lately at the pace of progress, some warranted, some not, so this is a message to recognise the progress that has been made so far, which is significant given the state of CoD when it was first released by the original devs.

Let's enjoy the current content and look forward to bigger (literally with the B-17) and better things.

Cheers

The B-24 and the Lancaster are planned too...

Out of the three, I wonder which one will come first...

Thanks Atomic... appreciate your vote of thanks.

Sometimes from outside, it may seem there is no progress being made... but inside we are working hard to develop and improve the game and add the new DLC and Visual Upgrades.  😉

"We are working very actively on the source of these crashes... which are probably related to errors in the functioning of the Simul trueSKY program... this program has been implemented into our game at the same time as we added VR.

Simul has not given us access to their source code, we rely on their Support Team to fix the bugs which we point to."

Well on the basis that a well led, professional, full time development team apparently deserve the comment "I'm sure they will finish it sometime. However limited progress" for producing in a year a working tech demo with an entirely new engine from scratch, I'm not sure quite what epithets TF deserve over that same period. But its probably not "well done".

On another positive note, we can all give thanks that Covid is no longer interfering!

Are you cursing again? As far as I know, we are not waiting for one single thing, but a lot of fixes and changes, new DLC, VR (VR which I don't care about at all, but I don't criticize it and I don't curse) True sky, 4k, sounds of single player modification and many others and modifications and fixes. And as far as I know, Buzzsaw has said several times that there are so many things that it's not worth renewing the patch upgrades one by one, but that it will do it all at once, so the job is long. And when they have solved problems with VR , True Sky, 4k , sounds and others, then new DLC, planes and maps will definitely not take that long ... it's simple ... so don't curse, don't insult, wait and if so for now play other simulators. :) And if you have the opportunity to contribute to the piece, please join. If not, wait and don't swear. :)

S!

I wish some of these negative individuals could show their extreme prowess and join TFS to finish the product faster and to their liking. Nothing stops them if having required skills, except never ending negativity and bickering that is. Wait has been long, can not deny that. But moaning about it or any other issue in every single thread does not help the slightest either. Go play something else while waiting, propably what most people have done including me. Or join TFS and amaze us with your contribution! Not that I am holding my breath over it though ;) Have a nice day everyone equally :)

Thanks- I love the sim and look forward to the glitches being finally ironed out.I’m sure working VR will bring a lot of VR users coming back to the new and improved VR and the ew features of the upcoming “Dieppe” addition.

Reddog was more involved with Cliffs than you realise, he's not just an embittered grognard ya know. 😄

Perhaps a special recognition badge 😇 for those contributors already on the TF Team is in order!

Just something in general, not calling anyone out.

What needs to be made very clear is that this is it for any chance of the MTO (El Alamein and Malta to name a few), 1941-43 Western Front, flyable heavy bombers, and Strategic Bombing including Night bombing in the future for a high fidelity WW2 combat flight sim. Currently the GBs/Korea devs have no interest whatsoever in doing the MTO and the above, and the future of Flying Circus looks uncertain after this year for what is very likely the same reason. We never got the early to mid war Western Front in the unmodded IL-2 series nor have we ever gotten a properly depicted MTO (we only got the desert and a very bare bones Italy in 1946 but it lacked a Career in the unmodded version and by then -- 2009 onwards -- people along with Oleg had started moving on). While the GBs/Korea devs are focused on their things, we have a team of people right here dedicated to not only meeting flight simmer demands (flyable heavies) but covering neglected parts of WW2 in combat flight sims that would be appealing to players. It takes literally years to make a combat flight sim of this level and get it to initial release... delivering only a slice of an overall theater per installment... unless you're Asobo Studios with like 200 employees and dozens of partners making 3rd party content. (I don't see Midway in Combat Pilot being released until next year with the Slot being released the following year or so.)

So unless a bunch of people get together to make a Malta/Sicily/Italy map for GBs (a years long process) or a flyable B-17 then there will be none of that for IL-2 GBs. Yes, it's been a long wait for Dieppe, but if not TFS then who else will give us these planes and places?

Remember folks, this was a note of thanks to the devs, not another pile-on to criticise them. If you must, do that in another thread, thanks.

Does this explain or excuse his endless criticism and persistent resentment?

What helps moving things forward has nothing to do with opinions from people who are not empowered to develop and/or promote this game. Opinions are supposed to be welcome, but they are not contractually effective.

TFS got the rights to develop this thing, there's nothing we can do against that. If you're not happy with the situation as it is since 2017, please go talk to Fulqrum Publishing and stop poluting the forums that you may find in the internet. All the forums. All of them.
