=BLW=Pablo Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) Hello everybody! My name is Pablo, I'm Brazilian and I'm 42 years old. I come from the IL-2 1946, and I bought the IL-2 Sturmovick even before it was released. And recently I started flying again, and went to buy some more packages, when I came across something absurd. On the game's official page, the WWI package costs R$503.21 in Brazilian currency. and on STEAM only R$214,99 So I contacted support to connect my IL-2 account with my Steam account. And the answer? It's not possible! Not to mention that I spent a lot of money on Rise of Flight, only for the game to be abandoned. I feel injured by the company. I was one of the first to bet on the game, and now to purchase a package I need to pay twice as much. Edited June 15, 2024 by =BLW=Pablo
BOO Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 The price difference does perhaps give you cause to feel some outrage but here is some context. If it makes you feel any better (it wont) in the UK the steam and IL2 store price for FC1 is broadly similar currently at about £64 to £66 (steam being the more expensive but not allowing for dollar to GDP conversion rates in each store). I dont know if steam adjust its prices regionally (i wasnt aware it did) or Brazillians are currently just getting a better Steam deal than some of us on FC1. Either way, it seems a glitch rather than a universal policy. If Stalingrad is similarily priced for you in steam as it is in the UK ( about a 1/3 down from later titles) it seems you have a choice. Go steam and buy BOS and FC1 still for less than the cost of FC alone from the offical store or wait for a sale take a punt it'll be a decent discount over its current price.
Aapje Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 The next sale should be at the end of the month or so.

I'm sorry, but there's no context. It's like being a founding member of a club, which charges more fees from founders than from new players. Total lack of common sense.

Firstly they are many "new players" who,, over the intervening 10 years, have gone on to buy many DLCs, at full price or in pre order, thus helping out the game's development every bit as much as you if not more. Secondly, youre not being discriminated against because you are a founder. You've found a DLC on steam that, for some reason, is cheaper for you in your region than in the store (and cheaper than many of us can buy it at currently too). and you cant take advantage of it. That's all. Wait a few weeks for a sale. The DLC will likely be as cheap if not cheaper. Finally it undermines your argument somewhat that you make such a virtue of your founders status yet are ultimately complaining that you cant buy a discounted item from a store that, ultimately takes a large proportion of the profit off the devs. 3
