rbjimbo2 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 I've never been in a tank and believe they weigh 50 tons + / - . They have tracks instead of wheels, so they don’t bottom out, and not just to go over things but to dig in for positive movement. I’m not in deep mud or ice covered roads but going up hills, is it normal that I have to snake up the hill on dry ground. I’m not climbing up mountains but many of the hills to get to the top I need to move like a snake, side to side. I though Tanks had better traction than that. Any thoughts Rich
Aapje Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 A lot of those old tanks had fairly simple transmissions that lacked torque. There is a reason why proper offroad vehicles tend to have a high torque mode on their transmission. The Churchill had a more complicated transmission which made it a great climber. I don't know whether this is modelled correctly in Tank Crew.
MajorMagee Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Yes, everything is modeled for all of the vehicles. The parameters are set in vehicle specific text files located in Data\luascripts\worldobjects\vehicles.
rbjimbo2 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 I thank you both for your responses. Thank You, Rich
ralk59 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Good morning, It's strange, I don't have a vehicles directory in Data\LuaScripts\worldobjects
