*** Sound Fix: Corrected an issue which caused certain aircraft engine sounds to bypass the Master VCA (Volume Slider). [Slipstream]

 Seriously though, am I to understand these fixes will only show up if I am playing the 'vanilla " ( non VR Beta) version of CloD?

Not all of us. VR wont make a damn of difference to CloD after the intial hurrah . Crushing core bugz are improving AI will.

I also dream of a single player, statistics (number of planes shot down, number of ground targets destroyed, etc.) for each static campaign and I don't solve it after every new update, why isn't it anymore.  That's still complaining about VR like nothing else.

I had more fun flying CloD than any other sim, even though Ive enjoyed them all. And, certainly when I played it a lot, it didnt take more than few players to make for a decent session. Things go around in circles and I now miss those things perhaps more than i thought I would when I stopped playing it. 

 

So, whilst I cant currently play any sim, come the time when I can, CloD will be back on my list. As a result, it seems pointless continuing to accentuate the negative and my doom-mongering and more sensible to be neutral or even cautiously positive. Since only TFS can work on the engine and therby fix stuff I think there comes a time for me to accept that instead of kicking against it. 

 

I dont know if CloD has suffered as a result of its long development snce Blitz and the fact its been locked into a loop of always waiting for something but I seems to me a factor. So I am hoping for a VU/VR/Dieppe release later this year if only to see if it relieves some of the constipation in accessing its potential player base on a more sustaned level. . 

 

Now of course it could all fall flat and I'd be a fool not to factor that but, for now, Im Mr Brightside.

Waiting patiently B-17...i just bought Saitek Flight Sim Yoke. I've been only testing it with Beaufighters yet. And found huge amount of campaigns from mission4today. They work with JGSME.

The Tiffy may have been flying well before we first saw it in the TF 6.0 promo. Hopefully it has company by now. That would certainly be a progress marker. Intro of Speedtree 8/9 into beta would be another.

I don't understand some individuals, what is the time frame for the release of new DLC and VR, true sky and others. A tentative release date of late 2024 was clearly written. So around fall or late 2024 so the developers have plenty of time.

You realize we are nearly half way through 2024, right?

What we have seen of 6.0 so far does not give the impression that a release this year is still feasible.

Beta testing of 5.0 took almost a year, beta testing of 6.0 has not even started yet and there has been no talk about it either.

And VR (and the VU) seems also stuck in development limbo. 5.0 will have its 4 year anniversary in August.

The B-17 alone seems like an extremely heavy "lift" for a part-time team. Just providing contemporary quality animations for crew and realistic firing arcs for gunners and turrets must involve quite a lot of effort when you consider what exists now in Blitz/DWT. This is why there is need to identify progress markers to provide even minimal  rational basis for suggesting that there is hope for seeing the VU/VR update and TF 6.0 within any given timeframe.

Ever since the work on VR started, the deadlines have been delayed, the original game was 2D, I also don't play VR and I won't play VR, that's everyone's business, but VR is one of the main reasons that delay the completion of deadlines and of course the transition to True sky, 4K and a lot of other new things that will be there ... so you can't expect it to be ready in a while ... for now it would be enough for me to solve the single player, for each static campaign, the total number of kills, destroyed ground targets, etc.

On the other hand the F4 just got released for DCS and that is one fun thing to fly. (Granted, its not Battle of Britian, not WW2, not prop driven).

This is all VRs fault.

Simple solution, release the VU for 2D users now.

Work on VR beta until your all blue in the face then release it sometime in the next decade when you finish it.

Simple, everyone's happy and life goes on.👍

Maybe but, as you point out, there is much else to entertain my dull little mind. I will hope for some resurgence of CloD though because thats where I enjoyed MP the most.

The sad reality is that there is no "large majority". There's a small handful of people unwilling to face facts and who cling to the hope that this mismanaged project will eventually deliver.

 

It's also a fact that the VR update is not yet complete regardless of the VR portion. So no one is waiting for VR, they're waiting for everything that was promised...
