Colmaniac Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 (edited) Hi, since today I have a controller issue. This has never happened before. I am using X52 joystick honeycomb throttle quadrant and the logic tec flight rudder/brake controls. Been using these last year or so with no issues till now. I have checked all controls on the windows game controller USB setup and every button, slider etc works and are all calibrated. But in game I had issues with setting the rudder slider left and right, that is now fixed, don't know how or why. But the left and brake peddle is no longer getting picked up by the game. I also tried loading another plane saved stat but testing isnt working in game. Can anyone help? P.S just tried a remap in Rof and it works, just not Il2 Just done a reinstall no different, yet had an idea, pressed the brake on the did the setup for the brake, released then pressed and it worked, though just had to flip the axis. Now seems I have another problem, sitting on the runway, engine works as normal full throttle 100% half 50%, but just as you take off the engine throttle control goes haywire. cutting back to 60% throttle it throttles right back, no matter where I put the throttle it either jumps to 100% or 0%. Plus using the square block at the end of the remap doesn't work pulling or pushing doesn't register on the test page for that remap Any one know whats going on? Edited May 27, 2024 by Colmaniac
cardboard_killer Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 @ColmaniacI would check your mappings. Make sure you have the right plane profile for the plane involved. Check especially the Engine 1 mappings to see if there are any conflicts.

Check especially the Engine 1 mappings to see if there are any conflicts. These were pre set mappings I have been using the last 6 months, I hadn't changed anything. The only issue was my rudder/brake quadrant wasn`t working at all, yet it was working the day before. NOTHING on my pc or settings had changed. First thing I did was use the windows USB controller to check the actual controls were working, which they were and also working in other games. I disconnected all my controllers and just plugged in my rudder quadrant, I had issues trying to map the rudder control and the brake, the rudder was flickering all over the place, and I could then still map the brake`s. after a while after unplugging and doing a full reboot and cold reboot, I managed to get the rudder working. But the brake pedals stopped working on the remap. I did the same again reboot plugged/plugged. also did a validation, did a full uninstall and deleting all the left game files, (over 10gb still left lol). This still didn`t work. There is nothing wrong with my controller as it works in windows USB and shows up as the correct controller and testing all the actions move fluidly. After reinstalling tried to map the rudder again still the same issue. The rudder pedals work, but again the brake doesn`t map, left & right. I did try and test mapping to another control to see if it was a specific area mapping problem but no same on any setting remap. I came with the idea to press the brake, then click the remap button, release the brake and press the brake. For some reason this worked, where in the instructions it said to do the opposite press then release. I had to then click the swap axis button to reverse the function. After several hrs trying to figure out what was going on, sussed it out. Again there is nothing wrong with my controllers, hardware, software or PC. I tested on other games and they all work as they should. The problem is with the games coding, and what is causing the issues, yes I have in the last 36hrs used google to identify if anyone else had the same problem, and yes people have similar issue`s and a fair few still have unresolved problem, some of the forum date stamp`s go back a few years too!. The errors`s are in the game its self, wither it was due to the latest update? Prob as never had this problem before. I found issues with reverse mapping the controller, discovered setting the left brake the game set it as pitch up and down, and setting the right set the roll pitch! I tried a few times to get it to set to what it should be and eventually it did. I then remapped all the controllers and atm touch wood everything is working as it should. Yet I do not know why reversing the brake control works when setting up normally doesn't. Plus after remapping, going to each controller and clicking on the remap test button my main stick shows all movement function, roll, pitch. yet going to the rudder and brake the functions do not show as working on the test screen yet they still work in game as they should.
