Max*PL Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) Hello. The configuration may be old, because it was running on Windows 7 x64, but ClOD-BLITZ worked CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2x2.93GHz RAM: 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz GPU: XFX R7 370 4GB SSD: 480GB ----------- I wanted to check by adding additional RAM, i.e. 3GB (1GB + 2GB 800MHz). And this problem occurred, I took out additional RAM (3GB). I stayed with the old configuration with 2x2GB I have a problem with my best WWII simulator. As in the topic, after running CloD-Blitz from Steam, "Launcher 64.exe" starts, a black screen with the IL2 Sturmovik ClOD-Blitz logo appears and it stops. What I checked: a). CloD game file integrity on Steam b). correctness of the application Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistrubutable - (x86)- 14.38.33135 - (x64)- 14.38.33135 Edited May 20, 2024 by Max*PL
ATAG__Torian Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Max according to the Steam Store page the MINIMUM requirements to run CloD Blitz is: 64 bit OS Windows 7 64bit (but Windows 7 is well and truly superseded now, they really should revise that to Windows 10 64bit) Intel Core i5 6500 or equivalent 8GB RAM Direct X 11 compliant Graphics card with minimum 4GB vram Your old PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for much of any game really. 1

56RAF_Stickz Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Max To back up Torian, I used to run the game on 64bit win7 4 or 5 years ago, but I had at least 8G of memory back (maybe 16 cant remember). Even back then win 7 was no longer listed as supported with CloD. It played pretty good with an old spec pc amd940 cpu. But you only have 4Gb and the game has had a few updates since which may have broken it for win7. You could check that you dont have a virus checker knocking you back, but otherwise I think you may have to update your machine. Even if you asked on the atag forum, I doubt you would get a lot of help but you can try there. But that spec is so very low 1
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted May 30, 2024 Team Fusion Posted May 30, 2024 Unfortunately as Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, we can't support Windows 7 in the game. Recommend you switch to W10 or W11. (W10 will not be supported by Microsoft in less than two years) 1

56RAF_Stickz Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Hi max Apart from virus checker giving you issues through some sort of update, can only come up with one other possibility for you. If Clod was running (or at least starting) 2 or 3 weeks ago and you then added some RAM (if I understand your initial post correctly) maybe that caused some issue ie just by opening pc to fit it. Then subsequently removing it and now putting another 4Gb in. The physical dissturbance could be the reason. Are you absolutely positive the new RAM was exactly compatible with what was in there initially? It can be notoriously difficult to pick up RAM that matches stuff from a few years ago ( just having same size and speed is not enough all the timings need to match as well and even that is not always enough). There are utilities that can check RAM but am not sure how reliable they are for you. Beyond that I am sorry cant help you - if it was working fairly recently then probably something you did adding RAM has left you high n dry. Is the original RAM in exactly the same slots? All I got for you sorry 1

LLv34_Flanker Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 S! One thing to try, after backing up your control configuration, is to delete the 1C Softclub from Documents folder. It Will rebuild it when starting the game. Then just drop back the controls file saved. Also worth trying is to run Launcher64.exe in Windows 7 compatability mode. 1
Max*PL Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 IL-2 Sturmovik CloD – Blitz “WORKS!” As suggested by one of my colleagues, I left the memory on which ClOD-Blitz previously worked and checked by moving the RAM modules (4GB "2x2GB") to the appropriate DIMM banks (color). When it worked, I added two more 2x2 GB RAM sticks - and now everything works great!-with 8GB RAM. Thanks a lot! for the tips. ~S! 1
