Colmaniac Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Been playing for a while yet the only issue I have is the unrealistic kills. Also use VR which makes it feel more real instead of a "fixed" head point. I play on realistic settings yet during a sortie 90% of the time I can get instant kills with only firing a few rounds. One mission I did got 4 kills and used less than 80 rounds of ammo. Flying behind the plane should be able to take more hits, yet last one I came up against just rattled off a couple of rounds and got an instant kill. gunnery needs to be more realistic, didn`t have this issue with RoF. 1
=IRFC=Gascan Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Have you ever taken a bullet to the chest? Let me know how many of those you can survive. Maybe even put a layer or two of canvas between you and the gun, tell me if it makes any difference. Unfortunately, the AI does not maneuver like a player does, making it very easy for an experienced player to get in position for an easy kill against the AI. When flying against other players, they tend to get in much more difficult angles to shoot, making it much harder to hit the target perfectly every time. 2

That's a rate of 50 kills per sortie. I'll stick my neck out and say that's never been done. Quick kills are certainly possible, but that rate isn't really sustainable. While not the best, I'm no mug - anything into double figures puts a little smile on my face. Edited May 19, 2024 by Zooropa_Fly 2

It's possible to knock down the occasional enemy plane with 20 rounds or less, highly doubtful if this could be done regularly. Sometimes planes fly towards a fixed waypoint and don't deviate from straight and level even when you fly right behind them and open fire. Edited May 21, 2024 by Dr1falcon500 bad spelling 1
Todt_Von_Oben Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Sure. We've all made nice shots but you're right about them not being an everyday thing. In the duels I flew an hour ago (while still figuring out how to work the Passthrough vision part of our new MQ3 headset) I was in Triple Trouble and those Acebot Nieuports were NOT making it easy for me. They did some impressive aerobatics, in fact. I had to chase them all over the sky and a lot of Der Kaiser's ammunition got wasted before I hit the pilots. And actually, I've been flying that combination of planes a lot lately and this has become characteristic bot behavior. I'm not saying it can't be done. All I'm saying is, if someone out there really is making "one shot kills all the time," I'd really like to see it. 1
