Record Deck - No Power. Looking For Electronics Advice Please.

I recently plugged my record decks power adapter into another device by mistake - the deck's getting no power since.

 

DECK'S ADAPTER OUTPUT - 16V, 500mA

 

OTHER DEVICES ADAPTER  - 5V, 3000mA

 

I could understand if the 'other device' wasn't working, but it is.

Could plugging the decks adapter into the other device have caused that adapter to fail ?

 

Obviously I could purchase another adapter - but I'm not convinced it would work.

If you're lucky you just might have to exchange some blown fuse, or maybe a capacitor in your deck.

It was a couple of weeks ago, and I might have my story above wrong..

Think I plugged the 'other' adapter into the deck after all !

 

I'll look for fuses and see if that could be a quick fix.

Certainly can't get into the moulded adapter, but I'll check in the deck itself.
