Otto Weßling Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Wessling Otto Weßling started his Luftwaffe career with JG 3 in March 1940 and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves during World War II. He was shot down by a P-51 Mustang near Kassel on April 19, 1944. He managed to crash-land his damaged Bf 109 but was killed by a P-51 strafing - it was a brutal business. Otto was credited with 83 victories in approximately 500 missions. He claimed 56 victories on the Eastern Front, including eight Il-2 Sturmoviks. Of the 27 victories he recorded on the Western Front, 15 were four-engined bombers.
