I am running IL2 in Open XR,  Steam VR crashed most of the time with my PC, can I still use Foveated rendering?

It doesnt appear that foveated rendering works at all in IL2 with openxr as you need opencomposite to translate, and it dont support FFR/DFR. However, I have been able to use DFR and FFR to work in IL2 using the pimax play eye tracking software. Its only compatible with steamvr (openvr) and you dont get nearly the performance increase that you get with QVFR in DCS. It seems to be slightly buggy but it works. I dont know if the varjo eye tracking works the same, although it may per the post below.

Varjo eye tracking definitely works with the QVFR in Il-2 GB. Unfortunately GB will crash after a variable length of time. It's easy to know that the DFR mod is working because of distortions you notice in setup screens text as you look away.

So, any options to get OpnXR natively? that will be a real fix for all of this

Not yet.

But, somehow, is in the roadmap, isn't it?
