Whats the latest to improve performance? NIS , FSR any other?

Trying to back to IL2, but the performance is terrible compared to DCS, I remember FSR and NIS were used, do they still work? Are there any newer other tricks that help? Foveated? or anything  that will help with performance? I remember one that the focus was on the center and the surrounding areas blurred, is that one still good?
