When taking off, an AI pilot will set the throttle to 100% immediately, resulting in the busting of the engine. I've attached a movie track.

That’s good news.  Is the problem described in this post the same as or similar to reported problems with AI Spitfire Mark IXe engines failing which results in the planes falling from 

the sky and crashing?

It's apparently an issue with the runway configuration - unlike for example the D-9, the Spitfire XIVe requires an airfield with a correctly configured taxi path.

Darn!  I was hoping the problems were related and the devs could come up with a fix for the Spitfire Mark IXe AI reported problem. Anyway, thanks for replying.

This is apparently not fixed, as it is still happening. The attached is just one such career mission, but every one (at the current airfield, anyway) has been the same. The work-around is of course to air start, which seems fine but makes me sad.
