Gunfreak Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Recently learned about Eric Haabjørn a Norwegian RAF pilot during WW2, unlike most Norwegian pilots who ended up in the two Norwegian Spitfire Squadrons 331 and 332. He ended up with Typhoons, becoming Squadron leader of RAF Squadron No 247. And even becoming Wing Commander over a Typhoon Wing. Besides the myriad of ground attack stuff, he did shot down 3 enemy aircraft before being withdrawn from the front in August 44. Sadly he died in 53 in a plane crash in Canada. I had to add a Norwegian flag to my Typhoon, as we attacked a railway depot. 1
