Struggling to find a sweet spot for plane counts on Normandy Map

Hi all,

 

Have really been struggling to get decent fights on the Normandy map as the allies. Even though I have axis flights set to 3, I am seeing 4-5 formations of varying types. I am using medium air density alongside this. It feels as though we are outnumbered every time. I would like a mixture of being outnumbered or maintaining parity. 

 

I have tinkered for months and really struggled to find a nice balance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think it is also worth stating that I have never seemed to grasp many of the settings as hovering over them does not give masses of information. I have also seen people discussing the ability to limit max planes on a mission however I don't seem to have that option either. I updated PWCG today and cannot see it.
