Engine start up and taxi in career mode

Has the idea ever been put forward to add a start up and taxiing option to career mode missions? I have recently been playing some campaigns where this happens and I feel it really adds to the immersion of the game. Could this feature be added to the career mode options mission start tab so that we have 3 options of 'in air', 'on runway' and 'start up and taxi'

Should be on top on the to do list!!!!

Pat Wilson’s PWCG tried it but the game never had the intention to do this. Some airfields it worked others it did not. Pat gave up on it. It will be a massive undertaking to do it. Not that I am not hoping for it because I love starting cold and dark.

Works in campaigns because only an airfield or two have to get setup for it.

AI pathfinder would have to be done for every revetment, staging area, or parking area to the runway in proper order for every airfield on map. That's a ridiculous amount of work that's better spent on other AI deficiencies that will be used/seen by all players far more often.

Yes, this is the main reason. Take for instance the Normandy map - I've not done any calculations, but I would guess that at any given time there are at least 50 different airfields the player can fly from. It would be a massive undertaking.

Understand, but just for single missions why are we limited to only a few airfields per map? It basically turns most of the airfields into scenery. Is it that hard to allow free flight from all airfields listed?

Just on this subject, is it possible to have AQMB setting for sight-seeing? This suggested mission type has aircraft selected as all friendly and set to 'fly from A to B' and truck convoys / trains are set to player's side. Just a little additional to allow for some practice / testing in an aircraft without the empty and sterile nature of a map without other platforms.

EDIT: If you have a single mission aircraft and select ground object they are always hostile. Even flying a Spitfire over England the trains fire at you. That is pretty dumb. It cannot be that difficult to turn this off as it would simply be change train = blue to train = red. Small addition to next patch?

I don't know how much work it would be, but I gather that it is, hence why it's not been done.

The reason for that is that these are quick missions, so yes, ground targets are going to spawn on the English side of the coast. Probably won't be changed at this point.

And just to confirm, you're seeing this with quick missions, not the AQM missions, right?
