LightningJonVic Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Hi all, my first post here. I have been a devoted IL2 1946 player and have just taken the plunge on a new PC to play the IL2 Stalingrad game. Thus far I think it is great but I have one issue that is really spoiling my experience. I cannot get the slider throttle on my Airbus sidestick to work. It works just fine in MSFS, Cliffs of Dover, 1946, ROF etc. it just seems to be this game. I can assign it in the key binds options but it just doesn't work in the game. I have taken to using the mouse wheel as my throttle. I've done a lot of digging online and not had any success with a few suggestions. I've disabled any assists, tried re-calibrating, downloading Thrustmaster drivers, plugging in to different USB port and still no luck. It's very frustrating that something so basic and a non-issue in all other sims I have is spoiling what seems such a great game. So, I am asking if this is a recognised issue that has a solution? Any suggestions apart from what I have already tried? I'm completely stumped! Cheers.
Dugieboy041 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I had the same problem years ago. go to thrustmaster app or cpl.joy or joy.cpl ( I can’t remember which comes first. un select digital buttons and try again. Tune axis should then be discoverable on Il2
LightningJonVic Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 Thanks for the reply. I discovered the issue (very late to report back haha). The Thrustmaster sidestick has a very subtle 'notch' just above the furthest down setting of the throttle. It's just about detectable if you move the sidestick throttle in an upwards motion. It almost feels like a notch that shouldn't be there or a bit of dirt that gives some resistance but it's deliberate I think to give a small amount of range for reverse thrusters. To get the throttle to work in IL2GB you must place the throttle on the notch by feel then when you bind it move the throttle all the way up and then down. It then works. It's literally an issue with starting from the very bottom of the throttle travel. That tiny notch is the key to getting a working throttle!!!
