pappy2 Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 (edited) P-51B "JEANNE III" Capt Burton N. Rodier, 26th FS, 51st FG, 14th AF, China 1944. Claire-Lee-Chennault and pilot Cpt Burton Rodier Burton N. Rodier, Jr. was born September 8, 1920. He served in the 26th FS, 51st FG, 14th AF as a captain during WWII. Holder of a victory on July 12, 1944. He was killed when his plane P-51B-7 "261" s/n 43-7058 crashed into a mountain near Wai Chen Shan, in China on September 5, 1944. He is now buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, United States. Cpt Rodier was one of 2,197 Americans who lost their lives defending China against Japanese invaders from 1941 to 1945.
