FuriousFurby Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 I believe this is a limitation of the IL-2 Server, but I wanted to get input from others that may have been doing this longer. I'm using PWCG (great application!) to run a coop campaign with friends. I've been able to successfully create, run, and update missions. The biggest hindrance for us has been having to restart the IL-2 Server between every mission in order to set the next newly generated PWCG mission. Has anyone found a way to inject a new mission into an already running server? How have you been going about running your coop campaigns? Here is my current method: 1. Use PWCG to generate desired coop campaign mission 2. Place the coop campaign mission files in correct directory for IL-2 server (if not already there) 3. Launch the IL-2 Server with the coop campaign mission as the sole mission in list 4. Run the mission 5. Close the IL-2 Server 6. Update the PWCG coop campaign with mission results/log 7. Advance PWCG coop campaign and generate new coop mission 8. Repeat from step 2 Thank you.
PatrickAWlson Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Short answer is "No" with PWCG. The next mission in a campaign cannot be generated until the results of the current mission are evaluated. PWCG is a persistent and changing environment. Personnel and equipment changes have to be determined after every mission as well as date related things such as squadron moves, front line moves, etc. The only thing that I don't understand is opening and closing the server between missions. Is the server unable to automatically detect new missions?
