My headphones with mic connects to my PC with a USB-A plug.

I am looking for an audio adapter with a 3.5mm male jack to a female USB-A.

Most of my searches produce products for Cars, U-Players, MP 3 player and such.  Descriptions are sometimes clear but in many instances lead to more questions.  This is not an expensive item.

If anyone has experienced success with an adapter as described please post.

As far as I know and understand, those do not exist.

Reason is you want to use an analogue output (via 3.5mm jack) to feed a digital audio device. (Your USB headset)

Your USB headset is an audio device in itself, if you plug it into a pc, a new audio device will be added.

The 3.5mm jack in your PC is the output side of an existing audio device. You can plug in an analogue headset there. Or a speaker set, or an amplifier.

Adding an audio device to an existing audio device is... weird. :) Makes no sense. No possible.

Now the other way around does make sense: a USB Adapter to 3.5mm. One that plugs into a PC's USB port, and thus it adds an audio device.

To which you can plug in your 3.5mm headset. (Well - it used to make sense, back when most headsets were 3.5mm and you had to plug them into an existing audio device in the PC.)

Now for your sake I hope I am seeing it incorrectly - but this is my take on it, and the reason why you basically cannot find one that would work: "Descriptions are sometimes clear but in many instances lead to more questions.

Have Fun!
