Blitzen Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 I am currently playing with Open composite and NeckSaver in a non-Steam version of the game.Recently , even when the OpenComposite ( and OpenComposite ticked off,) utility is activated ( and Steam turned OFF,) and sim started, Steam VR is also starts automatically and takes the place of an OpenComposite startup. This disables both the extra FPS I get with OpenComposite and NeckSaver utility ( which I love.) I've tried everything my feeble mind can think of, but have probably missed the obvious...any bright ideas??
356thFS_Piranha Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 What head set are you using? I recently had an issue where certain planes were not available when using Oculus 3 head set. The only way to get them to appear was to start the head set in link mode and with opencomposite and necksaver running. Then go to the desktop and start the game through steam. The game then ran in opencomposite with necksaver working and the planes showed up. This happened after the latest oculus update. Before I just launched the game trough the headset menu. Not sure if this helps. Good luck
Blitzen Posted March 26, 2024 Author Posted March 26, 2024 ReverbG2 - I should have included it the first post.
Hartigan Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Check Current Openxr Runtime from steamvr menu. Is it set Steamvr or Windows Mixed Reality? Here is how to chance it back Start the Mixed Reality Portal software Click the ‘Fix it’ button on the notification banner at the top of the screen. This will set Windows mixed reality as your default OpenXR runtime.

I did hit "Fix It", now we'll see if that does the trick! Thank you with fingers crossed! Ok , just started game again with OpenCoposite checked but still got a Steam VR start.I just checked Steam VR settings and now dio have WMR in Steam VR menu. What am I missing? Hartigan Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Hmm, do you use system wide open composite installer? Try to download that 64bit individual OpenVR_API.dll and replace current one
Blitzen Posted March 29, 2024 Author Posted March 29, 2024 Nearly there( again!) I used an old download of the OpenVR_API.dll ( is there a newer one if so do you have a link? )Meanwhile In the OpenComposite screen there is an option :Configure; I chose the obvious "Open Composite, " and viola, I had it working in game ! BUT if I tried to go to an exterior view of an aircraft I got an immediate CTD with the message below. So I 'm indeed almost there but with this stumbling block...

Blitzen Posted March 30, 2024 Author Posted March 30, 2024 I know I know I'm dense, but for the life of me I can't find the category you recommend...then again I can't even find the download for Open Composite either anymore on this screen

Its easier, automatically updates, and doesnt require you to put files in the game directory. But if you want the individual DLL files they are located on the link firdimigdi provided as he stated under per game installation. I assume you would click the 64 bit DLL.. https://znix.xyz/OpenComposite/runtimeswitcher.php?branch=openxr

Blitzen Posted March 31, 2024 Author Posted March 31, 2024 Somehow, nit sure how…this awkward situation has been solved-thanks all… Now if I could only get newest version of NeckSaver up and working ( it refuses to recognize my key stroke for DefaultVR Center…)I’ll be back where I was 2 weeks ago..
