It looks wonderful...now if I could only get my CloD working properly I'd be ready for this French ugly duckling ( I know: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!"

( BTW: Any other screenshots of the other up and coming aircraft?)

CloDs battle damage representation has always looked the best of all the sims to me. Glad to see the senisible restraint continues.  Hate to say "looking good" cos its the Moraine and its pig ugly but you know what I mean.

No problem at all ...have always found this aircraft...unique!

Beautiful in profile... not that beautiful from above or below. The contour of the wings isn't as elegant as a Spitfire silhouette (for example).

I changed my mind, the MS.406 is a beauty in its own right, both in profile and from above/below. And this is not a joke.

Oh I have loved CloD from the very start and still do, but while playing in ( secret, unmentionable,) Beta I have unstoppable , continuing freezes in gameplay. I know the good people at ATAG are working on it ( and have been for two years …) but right now ,for me, it is frustrating.I think the general idea is it will all be smoothed out with the release of the Dieppe addition,so I have my fingers crossed.

Re. The Morane: I have always thought of this aircraft as sort of the French equivalent to the Hurricane- a workhorse instead of the thoughbred…

Ah - beta - cant help you there. Lets hope, I fear anything less than the smooth roll out of VU/VR with Dieppe in the announced timeframe will be a back breaking straw. 

 

The Morane - Ive thought long and hard about saying something positive but all I can come up with is that its not quite as offensive looking as the Citroen Ami 6 (and even that is starting to grow on me).

As already mentioned in other threads on these forums, by 1940 the French had fallen behind in engine technology. The D.520 arrived late/not in sufficient numbers... and the  Citroën Ami 6 didn't even exist at the time... so it was all over...

Can you imagine the horror an entrie division of Ami 6s would have brought down on the Germans? Thousands of men tearing out their eyeballs trying to unsee them...

Disagreed! But whatever we may say about the MS.406's aesthetics, what matters most is that it wasn't good enough against the 109s in 1940, and when it joins the D.520 in the simulated TFS environment, we'll know who will be flying it... and who won't be flying it... and if you don't, Boo, then... well, then... this will be ok.

Actually, if it has an interesting cockpit I probably will. I like Clodpits the most out of any sim.

 

A gent called "Gromit" made E4 types look silly against his DH propped 87 oct hurri back in the pre blitz days such was his level of skill and proficiency so there's a lot to be said for learning how to wring the most out of something in a simulator where death is mearly a bit of a "tut" and a press of the fly again button. No doubt someone like Karaya could do the same so it may well find a niche if it ever makes it past AI.  I'd be happy with one kill out of 100 deaths knowing I can blame the machine for my lack of skill and judegment.   Best of all, if im flying it I dont have to look at it ?
