Cockpit versus combat view.

Hi all, recently I've lost the ability to switch between cockpit and 'chase' combat view. I use a grass monkey head tracker which works just fine (absolutly brilliant in fact) and even up to a couple of weeks ago I would switch to the rear view occasionally - to inspect damage, landing approach etc. My joystick is an X52HOTAS and I assigned the cockpit/combat view to the T5/T6 switch (buttons 13/14). This worked just fine until a week or so ago, even though the key bindings page tells me that the views are assigned to that switch, in the sim it simply does nothing. I've even tried resetting to the default settings for these views but in flight nothing happens. I did recently download the updated driver for my X52 but I suspect this is just coincidence, because even with the default settings in the sim it doesn't work. 
Any ideas anyone?

The external views get disabled if you disable the 'allow spectators' realism setting I believe. Or if on MP you might be on a server which has the setting disabled, most do.

Ah, thank you. I did disable spectator view. Easy fix. Although to be honest my last landing from cockpit view was probably my best ever.....
