Use the VKB Gunfighter KG12 Grip. https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/kg12-grip/ wich come close to the Original. Just waiting for the "upgrade" but now out of Stock.

Also got the the GNX-THQ WW II Throttle. Pretty cool. So could be more but didnt fond a Company how built this.

The grip is already already fully developed. Double stage trigger (different from the original, but why not!) and single top button for external loads (rockets, and bombs) will be made of aluminum. I want wood as the material for the grip, for the right experience and because it looks insanely cool and is a natural product.

And the switches… I added a 4-way head switch with push and additional turn function. The housing will be made of Aluminium, As the rest of the yoke.

And the Dive Flaps switch... ridiculous much effort for a single function, one hardly use ?. Housing will be made of Aluminium as well, the slider was and therefore will be plastic

Hello Aardvark,

yes, you are right. We are in the process of making it an orderable product. The development is in full swing, the testing phase will start soon, but to be realistic it will take some time. At the moment we are still looking for information/participation from enthusiasts in the development, since there is room and space for ideas and wishes and for participation in the development in general yet. We don't want to miss any good features in the final product. So don't hesitate to share your wishes and comments. That's what would help us the most right now. So feel free to contact me at any time: denis@denisgombert.de or contact me via discord "dw_bangat")(You can find more contact details on my website: www.denisgombert.de)

So far, we are aiming for the following combination:

+ Aircraft type is "P-38 Lightning" (was surprised how many people want a German Steuerhorn!! (one step after the other...).

+ The combination of aluminum frame + wooden handle + FFB is the target so far.
- Stainless steel for the frame is not an option because it is too heavy.

- No plastic grip as it does not match the original.

+ Dive flaps switch and microphone button have been developed. Hopefully they will come as cast aluminum housing.

+ Dive flaps one function only 😕

+ Microphone switch: combined 4-way, push-button, dial encoder

+ The column will have 3 adjustment heights to choose from.

° FFB and the standard version are still neck and neck, but it looks like FFB will win the race.

Progressing...

slowly but, you know...

So if you are wandering how near by the Yoke will be to the cockpit in IL2:

What I want to achieve is to give you a very close similyrity between game and handware... so that the VR flyers for example really know where to grip.

ok, there are updates:

For the column and the yoke the aluminum parts are ordered, all the skrews, wishers, sensors, springs, bearings, motors and gearboxes, gears and belts, tubes, profiles ... you name it, everything has been ordered.

The technical documentation for the welders is ready.

3D milling programs have been written, the week after next it will go into the workshop.
So hopefully in November there will be the first prototype made of aluminium including all joints and electronic parts to start the ForceFeedback-development.

Furthermore: The throttle quadrant already looks pretty good. The aim is to have all the levers with force feedback so that they can always reset themselves (I hate... H-A-T-E it when I have the thrust lever forward, but my computer thinks it's at zero and I have to restart). And I want the FFB Motors to shake the levers when increasing speed (i.e. at take off)
The throttle quadrant then has the following features:

1) Throttle L/R
2) Prop governor controls L/R
3) Propeller selector switches L/R
4) Mixture controls L/R (with the knobs on top)
5) Air filter control (nicht genutzt in IL-2, aber historisch korrekt und eine zusätzliche Achse)
6) Friction control (might be another encorder)
7) Propeller lever vernier knob. (might be another encorder)
😎 Elevator trim tab control.
9) Landing gear control handle.
10) Landing gear control release knob.

The yellow parts are the one which will be constructed next ...

I sitll like the idea of the combination of wood and aluminium

image.thumb.jpeg.1f982fe295568cd28b6bb989cd515f9d.jpeg

So even though it will become FFB, there still has to be some securety elements, where springs come in. they are not for the steering, but to protect the use if electricty fails (The yoke has a weight of 10 kilograms - full metal and wood - no "soft" plastic parts.
