paul_leonard Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Has anyone tried out the DOF Reality motion simulator with iL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz? Doesn't seem to be directly supported by the Sim Racing Studio software. Would like some feedback before I take the plunge. Paul

paul_leonard Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 Not directly but still investigating. I don’t think CLoD outputs telemetry. I looks like SRS will work but uses the controller inputs to output to DOF Reality. I’ll share more when I learn more.
dgiatr Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Hi Look here https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/il-2-sturmovik-cliffs-of-dover-plugin.55/ Probably you can use simtools instead of srs in order to activate dof reality platform. In the upper link I see that there is already a clod plug-in which gives data from the game to the platform. I am about to use simtools to modify my dof reality platform to put a pneumatic g-seat configuration on it. It works fine together with simshaker if you want some vibrations... But you will not get motion compensation which works only in srs unfortunately....
dgiatr Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 If you want to use your controllers with srs you have to pay more for advanced privileges , I think about 40 euros more if I remember..
paul_leonard Posted April 8, 2024 Author Posted April 8, 2024 I think the extra license cost is small potatoes compared to the hardware cost. That's the hurdle I have to get my head around. I've touched base with the Cliffs of Dover Blitz development team. At one time it did share some telemetry and the referenced plug-in worked but for the original Cliffs of Dover only and not the modded and ultimately revamped Team Fusion Blitz/Tobruk version with the VRbeta. They are aware of the issue but not a priority. I would agree that the use model is pretty far out there on the bell curve... buttkickers and motion platforms both of which have workarounds, although less than ideal. It does appear that SRS supports using one's controllers as input/output to SRS/platforms, and my Realteus seat can use audio input. So workable to a degree. At the end of the day, our simulations still demand that we, the player, suspend disbelief. Paul
