AI voice creation

This string prompted me to look for AI voice creation. I know a lot of ads on Youtube are AI. NOT real people. My apologies ..Not trying to hijack the thread.

But I can see this being used down the road in missions.

That would be an interesting adaptation of current technology. It has been used in advertising for a long time, particularly by Eastern countries in English, but it appears to be getting good enough to be used for something like a scripted campaign.

When it gets to the point of adding a southun' or New Yawk accent, or various regional British accents it would be ready for prime time.

So as not to hijack @LuftManu's thread, it might be worth it to start a new one regarding this idea. People could post references to various programs or software they are aware of, and the issues involved with doing voice tracks with campaigns.

It took me awhile to catch on. But I have heard a number of voices in different accents on Youtube. I caught on. None were real people.

Hey guys! that idea could be great. Having some "resources" for AI voices could be really useful for content creators :)

On another note, as soon as we finnish this event in April, work will continue as astated above

Kind regards,

We've discussed this is the DCS content creators Discord (not public) and the consensus is that for the most part it's not up to snuff/appropriate...at least if you want to keep things up to standard. It works better for some things than others though, most things not so much.

I am curious where it doesn't work. Can you share some caveats?

I used it online and it converted my text to speech that sounded very human. But when I downloaded the sample the file was 0kb (!!!)  and neither Mp3 or VLC media player would play it back(proprietary media file?).

I guess if we all wait long enough there will be Freeware that will give us what we need.
