Game will not load when Full Screen selected

Hi there,

 

     I just purchased IL2 Sturmovik, Battle of Stalingrad and Flying Circus on Steam.

 

     The game loads and plays fine in Windowed Mode, but will not load when Full Screen Mode is selected.

 

     How do I get the Full Screen option to work, and not freeze on loading?

I have done all sorts of searches for solutions and have not been able to find anything current.

 

Some people mention enabling Full Screen in the game .cfg file, however I can not find that file in my steam installation folder.

It's the startup.cfg file. If you start Launcher there's a settings where you can also activate it.

1. When looking for the startup.cfg file, it is not present in the IL2 main game folder or any of its sub folders.

 

2. At the launcher, when I check the fullscreen box, the game restarts and then freezes permanently at a black screen, both on the restart and any subsequent attempts to launch.

Problem solved ...

 

     The answer is  Do Not select full screen mode in Options. Leave in Windowed Mode.

 

     Merely choose / experiment with different Resolution settings until you find a setting that completely fills the display monitor.
