Blitzen Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Well it did get an Academy Award, didn't it and that's a big first for the big guy! 3
DBFlyguy Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 (edited) Minus One, so was such a good movie!!! I saw it twice in the theater. It's crazy that the budget for the movie was like $12 million dollars and looked great! There has to be a lesson in there for the overly bloated over $100 million Hollywood productions that still look bad lately... The 1:1 scale replica of the J7W built for the movie is also on permanent display at an aviation Museum in Japan now, the museum agreed to cover the cost of building it if they could keep the model after filming was complete: Edited March 11, 2024 by DBFlyguy 1 1
Blitzen Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 I Back home in Richmond California I walked to the FOX theater to see the original waaaaay back when..Though not quite as good as "Beast from 20.000 Fathoms" it was my first foreign movie and the first of many "camp" Godzilla movies, and all it's spin-offs, but I have to say this one hit it out of the Tokyo baseball park...or what was left of it...
Missionbug Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 I always have found watching how a film is made more interesting than the actual film, that is sure something to behold, sadly I have not actually seen the film. Take care and be safe. Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
