If you would watch the guide you'd know...?

I went through every setting in great detail. Take the guesswork out of this.

Not very helpful when you could have just told him. And linked the guide (what guide?). I'd like to know what "ODT" is too (and maybe see the guide without having to hunt for it). :)

It's even more helpful if the other person just follows the guide and checks that all of the settings are correct, not just this one.

ODT is the Oculus Debug Tool.

And the guide is here:

I think that it is unreasonable to ask people to repeat what is already in a guide they made, or to expect them to repost the same video again and again. There is both a separate thread for the guide and it was also posted one page back in this thread. How many times do you think we should repost the same thing, messing up the thread for people who are looking for new content, not just reposts?

He keeps complaining over and over on here about his Quest 2 not working properly, blaming his new superior gpu and more. He still seemingly has not watched the guide that I made personally for people that are struggling with this thing which explains how to setup a Quest device properly with a link cable. It covers and explains Oculus Debug Tool and EVERYTHING else in the video including Link settings, OpenXR Toolkit settings, Nvidia settings, IL-2 settings, as well as some stuttering fixes, etc. It wouldn't be easily put into text and thus, if he wants to keep having a bad experience, he can keep on keeping on with complaining and getting nowhere.

Unfortunately these pieces of hardware don't feel obliged to follow the rules. Lol. A perfect case in point, after the last firmware and software update my Crystal decided it was going to be the primary sound source, even though the headphones are removed and the tick-box in the settings is de-ticked. Twenty minutes of alt-tabbing, re-starting the unit, the PC and the game until I found the option in windows to disable completely the Pimax Sound option.

This 'kind of thing' is why guides don't always solve problems and people like Haz come for help. :)

The guide was a great learning tool. It helped me go from unplayable to playable in VR. But what is great,is that I learned a little about tweaking(dialing back lol),and being able to accommodate my particular components and lack of horsepower. GTX 1660, I7-10700.Thanks.

I take your point, but his issue is with ASW which can only be fixed with the Oculus Debug Tool.

I also covered audio issues and stuttering in the video and gave a number of fixes that worked for me/others.

It might be that, or it might be the hardware or software is glitched. I've lost count of how many times all the settings are correct but still the hardware refuses to do what's written on the tin. Then enter, stage left, the frustration and anger and irrational responses. One has to make allowances for human emotion. ?

He doesn't seem to have tried the guide, though...

Uh, ya. I did the guide and still didn't know what ODT settings were and it didn't solve my problem.

I just didn't realize I was "complaining" but since I was I decided to go elsewhere for help.
